A song inspired by events in the summer and fall of 2013, I wrote "All This Time" reaching for something epic, especially intending to capture the power of the chorus hook of AFI's "Silver and Cold". I was very pleased with how this song ended up, aside from the imperfections here and there that a creator always notices. For this song, I felt the urge to record it entirely with an electric guitar (as opposed to my Martic electric/acoustic, so I found a classic 1985 Ibanez Roadstar II in pretty good condition, and after a bit of tuning it up, used the Ibanez for all guitar and bass tracks. The album set for "All This Time" is to be determined. |
Almost ten years have gone With us wandering in the dark Try we did, we tried in vain To fill the holes we left in our hearts Now as reflections of each other Oh, the years have been so long But our memories are so clear We stayed together, afterall Across it all... All this time We have wasted Growing older, apart Come to me My love, lost for so long Here I am And here you are Returned to me You say you left your heart back Where our love destroyed us all Then as we walked among the dead, our eyes met And that wayward heart came home My own was never left behind me Though I did lie, and justify, to myself to Ease the pain, but through the years My heart was full of you It was always you... All this time We have wasted Growing older, apart Come to me My love, lost for so long Here I am And here you are Returned to me You work your way through solitude and oblivescence I'm right along here next to you Holding you Come to me My love, lost for so long Here I am And here you are Come back to my arms! All this time We have wasted How we've suffered, apart Oh, come to me My true love, lost for so long Here I am And here you are Returned to me |
