"Friends in Adversity" is another of the early songs that started as a completely different song, then was totally re-written, and the original (inferior) version discarded. Much more in the 'spaghetti western' feel, this song, in my opinion, didn't totally hit its mark, and it's one of my less-favored songs. Something about its sound ended up not working as well as I intended, not as vibrant as I wanted, so I think it's a little 'eh'. That said, it is very unique, and some people out there might really like it. "Friends in Adversity" was intended to be SONG 7 of the original album now named: "The Kokiri Project - Dare the Oblivion" |
From all the love and joy you've given me I've come to see you were the best years of my life You let me in your family ... always there for me I'd be much less without you. You never think of where you are Until you've lost your way We're so far from yesterday... And through all the years I defended you I'd do anything for you, but it didn't matter in the end. You turned on me like an enemy ... ran the noose and ruined me. You had me running for my life. You never think of who you are Without the ones you make you Never think they'd break you... You never know the strength of hold Your friends have on your heart Until it's tearing you apart... (I carry my love for you until we meet again.) |
