One of my favorite songs with the 'Westerny' feel, I wrote "Renegade" back during the Kokiri days after I wrote the 'Dare the Oblivion' album about my lost love. This is one where, when I've played it acoustically, I've always strapped on the harmonica headgear 'ala Bob Dylan. I was very happy with how the depth of marmonies worked out, reminding me a little of "The Eagles" in places. To date, Renegade has the most (and most complex) instances of tempo changes amidst active music (i.e. playing during the time of the tempo change). Renegade is not attached to a particular album at this time. When I made the music video, I decided to theme the video as a tribute to the "Dark Tower " novels by Stephen King, which held many parallels to my musical universe, and the vast majority of artwork in the video comes from the graphic novels. |
